【摘要】:Typesofarchitecturaljointsystemsincludedinthistestmethodarethefollowing:Metallicsystems;Compressionseals:Withframes,andWithoutframes,Stripseals;Preformedsealantsystems(seeAppendixX1):Withframes,andWithoutframes,Preformedfoamsandsponges:Self-Expanding,andNonexpanding,Firebarriers:Usedasjointsystems,andUsedasapartofthejointsystem,andElastomericmembranesystems:Withnosingmaterial(s),andWithoutnosingmaterial(s).Thistestmethodwillassistusers,producers,buildingofficials,codeauthorities,andothersinverifyingsomeperformancecharacteristicsofrepresentativespecimensofarchitecturaljointsystemsundercommontestconditions.Thefollowingperformancecharacteristicsareverifiable:Themaximumjointwidth,Theminimumjointwidth,andThemovementcapability.Thistestcomparessimilararchitecturaljointsystemsbycyclingbutdoesnotaccuratelyreflectthesystem''sapplication.Similarreferstothesametypeofarchitecturalsystemwithinthesamesubsectionunder4.1.Thistestmethoddoesnotprovideinformationon:Durabilityofthearchitecturaljointsystemunderactualserviceconditions,includingtheeffectsofcycledtemperatureonthejointsystem,Loadingcapabilityofthesystemandtheeffectsofaloadonthefunctionalparametersestablishedbythistestmethod,Rotational,vertical,andhorizontalshearcapabilitiesofthespecimen,Anyotherattributesofthespecimen,suchasfireresistance,wearresistance,chemicalresistance,airinfiltration,watertightness,andsoforth,andTestingorcompatibilityofsubstrates.Thistestmethodisonlytobeusedasoneelementintheselectionofanarchitecturaljointsystemforaparticularapplication.Itisnotintendedasanindependentpass/failacceptanceprocedure.Inconjunctionwiththistestmethod,othertestmethodsaretobeusedtoevaluatetheimportanceofotherserviceconditionssuchasdurability,structuralloading,andcompatibility.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstestingproceduresforarchitecturaljointsystems.Thistestmethodisintendedforthefollowingusesforarchitecturaljointsystems:1.1.1Toverifymovementcapabilityinformationsuppliedtotheuserbytheproducer,1.1.2Tostandardizecomparisonofmovementcapabilitybyrelatingittospecifiednominaljointwidths,1.1.3Todeterminethecyclicmovementcapabilitybetweenspecifiedminimumandmaximumjointwidthswithoutvisualdeleteriouseffects,and1.1.4Toprovidetheuserwithgraphicinformation,drawingsorpicturesinthetestreport,depictingthematminimum,maximum,andnominaljointwidthsduringcycling.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtobeusedonlyaspartofaspecificationoracceptancecriterionduetothelimitedmovementstested.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
