【摘要】:Theporosityofapaintfilmiscloselyrelatedtotheimportantpracticalcharacteristicsofstainresistance,abrasionresistance,durability,andthehold-outofanypaintsubsequentlyapplied.Thistestprovidesaprecisemeansforevaluatingandcomparingthequalityofpaintfilms,insofarasitpertainstoporosityasdeterminedonacoatingappliedtoanonporoussubstrate.Porositymeasuredusingthistestmethodmaynotbeanaccuratepredictorofcoatingporositywhenthecoatingisappliedtosubstrateofhigherabsorptioncharacteristics.UnlikecurrentTestMethodD3258PorosityofPaintFilms,whichiseffectiveonlywithlightcoloredpaints,thistestmethodisequallyeffectivewithpaintsofanycolor,bothdarkandlight.AlsounlikeTestMethodD3258,itsresultsarenotinfluencedbythehidingcharacteristicsofthepaintfilm.1.1Thistestmethodisapplicabletoair-dryarchitecturalcoatingsofanytype,bothsolventandwater-borne,andofanycolor,darkaswellaslight.Itcannotbeusedwithfilmsthataredissolvedorexcessivelysoftenedbymineraloil,butpracticalexamplesofsuchfilmswillbeencounteredrarely,ifever.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
